Summarising & Disseminating the Evidence
>>> Click here to search for Summarised Evidence...
Step 3 in establishing evidence-based midwifery care in your organisation involves condensing evidence into a user-friendly manner that is easy to read and distributable to all those involved in health care. Most, if not all health professionals do not have the time to search, for, retrieve and appraise evidence. The transfer of knowledge to health professionals and health organisations may be through many avenues such as journals and other publications, electronic media, education and training and decision support systems. The aim of evidence transfer is to convey information that is easily understood and can be used in decision-making.
This section of JBI COnNECT provides users with access to summarised evidence that can be disseminated within organisational memberships. There are three different resources available in this section:
JBI Database of Best Practice Information Sheets (BPIS)
Best Practice Information Sheets are summaries derived from the findings of systematic reviews of evidence. The purpose of these sheets is to condense a large volume of material to assist busy clinicians to access the best available evidence. Best Practice Information Sheets are free to download.
JBI Database of Midwifery Related Evidence Summaries
Evidence summaries are short extracts of research literature on selected clinical topics that are based on structured searches of the literature and selected evidence-based health care databases. Full text evidence summaries are available to JBI COnNECT subscribers and educational and corporate members of JBI ONLY.
JBI Database of Midwifery Related Evidence-Based Recommended Practice
Evidence-Based Recommended Practice are interventions that describe and/or recommend certain practices on selected clinical topics and are based on the best available evidence. Each Recommended Practice is made up of an equipment list, a recommended practice, occupational health and safety icons and an adjoining evidence summary where possible. Full text Recommended Practice are available to JBI COnNECT subscribers and educational and corporate members of JBI ONLY.
